Breakfast With Champions
Yakima is an annual fundraising event for Special Olympics Washington
(SOWA) athletes in Yakima County. SOWA is a non-profit organization
that provides year-round sports training and competition for children
and adults with intellectual disabilities. Currently there are 409
participating athletes in Yakima County. By participating in sports,
physical fitness and healthcare education programs, SOWA athletes
increase self-confidence and social skills, improve physical and motor
skills and have better success in leading more productive and independent
lives.
Objective:
Raise funds for and build public
awareness about Special Olympics Washington programs and services.
Format:
Guests are seated at 7:15 a.m. to enjoy a hot breakfast,
and the program begins at 7:30 a.m. The program includes inspiring
videos, speakers, and Special Olympics athletes who will share their
personal stories of achievement.
