Skagit Special Olympians just finished another sucessfull season of summer sports - cycling, soccer, and swimming.
The 2007 Special Olympics of Washington held the Summer Games in Fort Lewis again this year. This was a weekend of successes due to the hard work and dedication of the athletes, coaches, and volunteers including those of the Skagit Bicycle Club. It was a fun event with races and games, really nice weather, good friends, Olympic village activities, and a big victory dance that was held at McChord Air Force Base in one of the airplane hangers again this year. Click on the Summer Games Photo Gallery below to view some pictures of the events from this great weekend of competition and fun. Can you find your picture?
Also, take a look at my Vancouver Countdown link. The countdown clock started up this past Febuary 12th and will count down the hours, minutes, and seconds until the offical opening of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
Our teammate, Joan Good, is our Featured Athlete. Read about her upcoming trip to China where she will represent all of us as she cycles with athletes from all over the world.
Have a great summer and remember to stay in shape! Ride, run, walk, work out at the gym, swim, or chase that soccer ball, whatever--just keep moving!
